Lotte.com protects the member’s privacy actively and effectively, establishes and follows [Lotte Family Member Personal Information Use (Handling) Policy] to abide by every relevant law such as the [Law regarding the Promotion of Information and Communication Network Use and Protection of Information]. Please check frequently when joining Lotte Family membership or visiting website.

[Lotte Family Member Personal Information Use (Handling) Policy] shall be amended according to the change of relevant laws and guidelines and to the change of internal operation policy. When [Lotte Family Member Personal Information Use (Handling) Policy] is amended, the amended conditions are posted on the Lotte.com website and Lotte Town website. Please feel free to ask the person in charge or visit Lotte Family Service website and Lotte.com website for any inquiry about the changes.

This [Use (Handling) of Personal Information Policy] defines terms as follows:

  • Article 1 (General Rule)

    Personal Information means information on live individuals, which can identify each person through the items included in it such as name and resident registration number (including the ones that can distinguish a specific individual by combining with other information, even though they cannot do so alone). Lotte.com values personal information of Lotte Family members and complies with the provisions in the [Law regarding the Promotion of Information and Communication Network Use and Protection of Information] and [Personal Information Use (Handling) Policy]. Lotte.com notices here how the customer's personal information is being used according to [Personal Information Use (Handling) Policy] and what kind of action is being taken to protect personal information. Lotte.com sets procedures needed to amend [Personal Information Use (Handling) Policy] for continuous improvement of it. Also, when [Personal Information Use (Handling) Policy] is amended, Lotte.com clarifies the amended provisions by providing version number so that customers can understand easily. In the case of commissioning the handling of personal information for purposes other than the items of collected personal information, collection and use of personal information, period of holding and using personal information, provision of personal information to a third party, and fulfillment of the contract, such intent is notified on the Lotte.com [Personal Information Use (Handling) Policy], and the user’s consent is deemed to have been accomplished by clicking the "Agree" button on the [User’s Consent to Protection of Personal Information].

  • Article2 (List of Collected Personal Information)

    To provide various and convenient Internet service for Lotte Family members, Lotte.com collects personal information as follows:

    1. 1) General Members
      Mandatory entry items

      - Items for identification of a user:

      2. ② Name, date of birth, sex, connecting information (CI), duplication information (DI), i-PIN (in case of verifying identity through i-PIN)

      - Items for identification of User: E-mail address, nationality, sex, date of birth, ID, password

      - Items for notifying and informing of contract performance: E-mail address, whether or not to receive e-mail, mobile phone number, whether or not to receive SMS

    3. 3) Corporate Members

      - Items for identification of User: Business registration number, name of corporation, name of representative, division in charge, personnel in charge, ID, password

      - Items for shipping of products: Address, phone number

      - Items for notifying and informing of contract performance: E-mail address, whether or not to receive e-mail, facsimile number

    4. 4) In the process of service use or business procedure, information below may be produced and collected:

      - Service usage records, access log, cookie, access IP data, payment records, suspension records.

    5. 5) Collection of non-member customer personal information:

      At Lotte.com, both Lotte Family members and non-members can purchase goods and service products. When a non-member orders products, Lotte.com requires information only needed for delivery, payment, checking order statement, and confirmation of purchase. When a non-member purchases a product from Lotte.com, the purchaser’s and receiver’s information are not used for any other purpose than payment and delivery. Lotte.com protects non-members’ personal information in the same way as it protects Lotte Family members’.

    Lotte.com collects personal information in ways as follows:

    • - Homepage, paper form, phone call, joining membership through fax, inquiry board, application of premium advertisement, request for delivery

    • - Collection of information generated from log analysis program
  • Article 4 (Purpose of Collecting and Using Personal Information)

    Lotte.com collects personal information basically for effective use of various Lotte Family member services, and provides information about services through various methods (phone calls, notice, e-mail, etc.) on the basis of collected information for providing better service benefits. However, when a member expresses his/her intent of not wanting to receive such service benefit information, the member is excluded from the list of beneficiaries. Also, even when disadvantages occur to the member due to such exclusion, Lotte.com is not responsible for it.
    Lotte.com, for quantitative and qualitative improvement of services provided to a user, may collect personal information of the user for identification thereof with the user's consent and then use it for personalized service, E-commerce, community service, contents, or mobile service, and may also use it in providing telemarketing service.
    Lotte.com, to provide various contents free of charge, publishes advertisement. Statistical figure of types of members intended for advertisement is provided to the corporation or organization wanting to advertise for suitable and useful delivery of these advertisements. Otherwise, any kind of personal information that identifies individual is not provided.
    Lotte.com tries to provide better services by researching users’ demographic distribution chart, interest, and behavior pattern on the basis of personal information acquired from log file of server or other surveys. This information is comprehensively collected and analyzed, and depending on its case, relevant information can be shared in the form of statistical data with clients or partner companies. Even in this case, an individual’s personal information is not exposed.

    4. 4) Payment for the use of paid information service.
    5. 5) Prevention of illegal or unauthorized use by ill-intentioned members.
    6. 6) Smooth provision of any other quality services (introduction of quality services such as insurance sales, affiliated service and provision of other information through telemarketing, SMS, and e-mail marketing service). However, telemarketing of affiliated products is only provided to members who have selectively consented to the [Consent to Use of Personal Information for Supplementary Service].     • 1) Lotte.com may provide telemarketing service related to the merchandise of its business partners exclusively to members who have selectively signed the [Consent to Use of Personal Information for Supplementary Services].

  • Article 5 (Purpose and Use of Personal Information, Provision to and Share with a Third Party)

    Lotte.com shall use members’ personal information within the limit of range prescribed in 'Method and items of collecting personal information' and 'Use of personal information,' and shall not use exceeding the range or provide to others or any other company/organization.
    However, exceptions are as follows:

    1. 1) When a member consents in advance
      Lotte.com informs a member about the following items before providing the member’s personal information to a third party and obtains consent.

  • Article 7 (Period of Keeping and Using Personal Information)

    Lotte.com, in principle, shall destroy personally identifiable information without delay once the purposes of collection or acquisition are achieved. However, such information shall be kept for a certain period of time if so required by the applicable laws and regulations such as [E-commerce Consumer Protection Act]. In which case, Lotte.com shall not use it for any other purposes, and the keeping periods are as follows:

  • Article 8 (Procedure of Destroying Personal Information)

    Lotte.com, in principle, shall destroy personally identifiable information without delay once the purposes of collection or acquisition are achieved. Detailed procedure, time, and method of destruction are as follows:

    • 1. Procedure of destruction: According to internal policy and relevant laws for protection of personal information, information input for the purposes such as joining membership is destroyed automatically within a certain period of time once the purposes of collection or acquisition are achieved. Personal information is not used for any other purposes except holding unless it is by the laws.
    • 2. Time of destruction:
      (1) Membership information: When withdrawing or being canceled from the membership.
      (2) Payment information: When the full payment is done or debt extinctive prescription period is expired.
      (3) Delivery information: When the product of service is delivered or provided.
      (4) Information collected for temporary purposes such as survey and event: When concerned survey or event is over.
    • 3. Method of destruction:
      (1) Personal Information printed on paper: Destroy through shredder or incineration
      (2) Personal Information saved as digital file: Delete using technical method unable to regenerate the records

    When a member requests to inspect transaction information held by Lotte.com with the member’s consent, Lotte.com allows the inspection and lets the member confirm it.

  • Article 9 (Disclosure and Management of Personal Information)

    Any damage or problem caused by the personal information released in Lotte.com website voluntarily by the member is the individual member's responsibility. Lotte.com is not responsible for such damage unless it is the intention or fault of Lotte.com. Please keep in mind that personal information posted on open space can be collected and used by others, causing unwanted damages.

    Lotte.com shall provide links to the websites or data from other companies to the member. In this case, since Lotte.com shall not have any control on external websites and data, Lotte.com shall not be responsible for the service provided or the usefulness of data thereof, and shall not guarantee any of them. Please check the policy of the linked websites, when transferring to other sites by clicking the link included in Lotte.com, since the concerned site’s [Personal Information Use (Handling) Policy] shall not have anything to do with Lotte.com.

    2. Post:

    Lotte.com values member’s posts, and tries its best to protect them from alteration, damage, and elimination. However, exceptions are as follows:

    (1) Spam posts (ex: Letter of luck, 800 million mail, etc.)

    (2) Posts damaging others’ fame by spreading false information for the purpose of abusing others

    (3) Disclosure of others’ personal information without consent, posts invading a third party’s right such as copyright, and other posts unrelated to the board’s topic or other posts.

    Lotte.com, to encourage a desirable culture of bulletin board, shall delete or edit a certain part when an individual’s personal information is disclosed without prior consent. When transfer of the post to other topic board is available, route of transfer is clarified so that there is no room for misunderstanding. In other cases, deletion shall be carried out after a clear or individual warning.

  • Article 10 (Methods for Inspection, Renewal, Edition and Withdrawal of Personal Information)

    Lotte Family member shall withdraw his/her consent to the use of personal information through the withdrawal of membership. Application for withdrawal shall be done through Member information at ‘My LOTTE’ corner’ >> Withdrawal of membership at Lotte.com website. Inspection and edition of personal information shall be done at “Delivery address / Member information management” menu. Also, withdrawal and edition of information shall be promptly processed at Lotte.com customer service center via phone or E-mail, after verification of identity.
    When a member requests correction of error in personal information, the information cannot be used or provided until the correction is complete.
    When wrong personal information has been provided to a third party, the result of correction is immediately notified to the third party for correction.
    Lotte.com shall take measures necessary to create a method of withdrawal of consent to the collection of personal information (withdrawal of membership) easier than collecting personal information.
    Lotte.com shall not send commercial messages against the Lotte Family member’s clear refusal to reception.
    Lotte.com, when a Lotte Family member consents to receive e-mail such as newsletter, specifies in the title (subject) and body of an e-mail as follows so as for Lotte Family members to recognize it easily:

      The word “Advertisement” could be omitted in the subject column, and may be indicated in the main body column instead.

    • Body of e-mail:

      - Name, e-mail address, phone number, and address of the sender are specified for Lotte Family members to express refusal to reception. The information is as follows:

      When Lotte.com sends an e-mail for online marketing such as introduction of products, it takes measures as follows in the title (subject) and body column of an e-mail for Lotte Family members to recognize easily:

    • Title of e-mail: The word “Advertisement” or “Advertisement for Adults” is indicated on the subject column without space in Korean, and the main content of body column is indicated.
    • Body of e-mail:
      • - Name, e-mail address, phone number, and address of sender are indicated for Lotte Family members to express refusal to reception.
      • - Korean and English version of method for Lotte Family Members to express refusal to reception easily is indicated.
      • - Time and content of Lotte Family member’s consent is indicated.

    In the case of sending harmful information to minors as follows, the word “(Advertisement for Adults)” is indicated. When information such as followings is expressed in sign, letter, video clip, or sound (including when the content is technically processed for receiver to understand easily even though it is not expressed in the body column of the concerned e-mail) and when the Internet homepage handling the expressed content is informed, the word “(Advertisement for Adults)” is indicated in the subject column of the concerned e-mail.

    • - Provocative or filthy content stimulating sexual urge from a minor (a person who is younger than 19 years old)
    • - Content provoking atrocity or criminal urge from minor
    • - Content stimulating or glorifying every kind of violence including sexual assault and drug abuse

    When commercial messages are sent through fax and mobile SMS other than e-mail, the word “(Advertisement)” is indicated initially in the sent messages, and the sender’s contact detail is indicated in the messages.

  • Article 11 (Right and Exercising Method of User and Legal Representative)

    The user or his/her legal representative shall check or edit the personal information of their or concerned children under 14 years old at any time, and request for the withdrawal of membership. Checking or editing of the personal information of the user or children under 14 years old is available by clicking “MY LOTTE member information >> Edition of delivery / Member information,” and withdrawal of membership (withdrawal of consent) is available through “Member information >> Withdrawal of membership” after identification to personally inspect, correct, or withdraw. Otherwise, please contact the person in charge of personal information via document, phone call, or e-mail for an immediate action. When a member requests correction of error in personal information, it cannot be used or provided until the correction is complete. When wrong personal information has already been provided to a third party, the result of correction is immediately notified to the third party for correction.
    Lotte.com shall handle personal information which has been terminated or deleted via the user’s request in accordance with the provisions in “Period of Keeping and Use of Personal Information Collected by Lotte.com,” and inspection or use of the information for other purposes is unavailable.

    Protection of personal information of children under 14 years old:

    Lotte.com, in order to protect personal information of children under 14 years old, requires consent from their legal representative (parents) when children under 14 years old apply to join the Lotte Family membership. Therefore, when children under 14 years old apply to join the Lotte Family membership, legal representative (parents) should do so along with them. When legal representative does not personally consent to joining the membership, the children shall be excluded from the Lotte Family member. Lotte.com, at the step of joining the membership on its Internet homepage, accepts the membership application of children under 14 years old through legal representative’s identification (verification through credit card, mobile, and general-purpose public certificate) in accordance with relevant laws. Legal representative shall do inspection, consent withdrawal, and correction of the child member’s personal information.
    Lotte.com, when legal representative requests for correction of error in the personal information collected from children under 14 years old, prohibits the use or provision of the concerned personal information until the correction is complete.

    Actions for stolen personal information:
    • (a) When it has been found that the user joined the membership by stealing other’s personal information such as resident registration number, necessary actions such as suspension of service or withdrawal of membership for the concerned ID are immediately taken.
    • (b) When the user finds that his/her personal information has been stolen and requests suspension of service or withdrawal of membership for the concerned ID, immediate actions are taken.
    • ※ In this case, identification of the user who insists his/her personal information has been stolen is processed through ID confirmation service enforced by the digital government.

  • Article 12 (Installation, Operation and Refusal of Automatic Collection of Personal Information)

    Lotte.com shall use cookie to provide personalized service to Lotte Family members. “Cookie” is a small bundle of data sent to a user’s browser at HTTP server, which is saved in Lotte Family member’s computer hard drive. Information on visited websites and the user’s personal information can be saved in cookie.

    Lotte.com uses cookie for the following purposes:

    1. (a) When the member is registered, the cookie is set at the first log-in and deleted at log-out. The purpose of using the cookie in relation to the member’s log-in is to check his/her current log-in status.
    2. (b) Lotte.com uses cookie at user’s computer configuration too. The information personally used by an individual for Internet search can be saved and used later for necessary configuration setting.
    3. (c) Information on a user’s usage behavior such as the gap between member and non-member regarding access frequency or repetitive use can be collected and used for a targeted advertisement.

In the case of protecting personal information, Personal Information Manager takes whole responsibility for any incidents occurred against the policy notified to the members.   • Article 14 (Technical and Managerial Measures for Protecting Personal Information)

    Technical Measures:

    Lotte.com looks for technical measures as follows in order to secure the safety from loss, robbery, leak, falsification and damage while handling Lotte Family Members’ personal information. The personal information of Lotte Family members is protected by PW, and other important data is protected through additional security functions by encrypting files and transmitted data or using File Lock function.
    Lotte.com is trying to prevent damage from computer viruses using a vaccine program. The vaccine program is updated periodically and, in the case of sudden appearance of a virus, the up-to-date vaccine is provided as soon as possible to prevent personal information from being infringed.
    Lotte.com adopts SSL for safe transmission of personal information on the network by using an encrypting algorithm. In preparation for the outside attacks like hacking, full defensive measures are taken by way of installing invasion-blocking system or weakness-analyzing system.
